I was raised in Texas and found my bestie, Jesus, at age 6. He went with me wherever I went (and we know this because my mom said I walked around with my arm around Jesus’ shoulder and no one could sit next to me at the table because then he would be squashed).
I got married and had two beautiful boys but the stress of our second child put such a strain on our marriage we divorced after only 5 years. After this I put on my big girl pants and flew to Tucson, Arizona, where I later met my now husband (of 31 years) and we became a family of 5 children and 3 dogs.

I never had it all together and depended on nurses from our hospital to teach me all the medical things I needed to do for my son, Clay. In fact, I couldn’t even imagine having the time to learn anything medical! But I never, ever felt him as a burden. I knew God chose me out of all the moms in the world to have this special child. I learned so much about the power of Scripture and prayer and want you to know this too!
I learned that my commitment to prayer and His Word would carry me through all the difficult days and the dark, lonely nights.
Mama, I want this for you. I want you to have joy in your days and peace in the nights. Don’t give in to fear. God has a plan for your life! He has chosen you to raise this special child. Goodness gracious, if I can do it so can you! Let’s do it together.
